Turbocharging your vehicle

How do I turbocharge my vehicle? There are a lot of kits in the marketplace that are available as complete kits, or "starter kits", which GCG sell, where you will get a turbo, manifold, wastegate, oil and water fittings, studs, nuts and gaskets. Once these kits are fitted, a few custom parts are required, such as dump pipe, air inlet piping and intercooler piping, along with supporting modifications, which may be injectors, fuel pressure regulator, intercooler, fuel pump and exhaust. If for any reason, there are no kits available for your vehicle, the process gets a little more involved, where a custom manifold is required to suit the vehicle and turbocharger that is being fitted.

How can GCG help with turbocharging? We can make your job easy by providing a lot of the parts required, but there will still be some custom parts that need to be made. GCG stock nearly everything that is required, including the turbocharger, fittings, flanges, gaskets, studs, nuts, blow off valves, wastegates, silicon hose, clamps, turbo bags, boost controllers and heat shielding just to name a few. GCG can even custom make the oil and water lines when the block threads and hose lengths are provided. We can also offer aftermarket ECU's and harnesses for some vehicles, and even assist in finding your local performance workshop with fabrication, and tuning expertise.

Is it worth turbocharging my vehicle? It is very worthwhile when done properly!. Turbocharging usually gives around 30% increase in power over standard, this applies for diesel, and petrol application.

Can you Turbocharge any engine and how much does it cost? Most of the time, yes, but how much it costs depends on the engine. Sometimes it is much cheaper buying a factory turbocharged engine instead of turbocharging the factory engine. A good example of this is the Subaru EJ20 non turbo engine. It is a cheaper, and more reliable option to buy a WRX front cut that is already turbocharged, and doing an engine swap. These engines come with all the turbo gear, such as injectors, ECU, manifold, up pipe, all turbo plumbing, and the engine internals are built specifically for turbocharger application.
